Continuing on from my previous entry, it's time to say a few words about our honeymoon.

For the first time in my life and the second in my wife's, we went on a package holiday. This is not something we'd normally do, but we wanted a hassle-free break where we could both relax and perhaps enjoy some sunshine.

On the Monday morning (having enjoyed a lovely pre-Christmas Christmas dinner at K's parents' house on the Sunday), we departed from London Gatwick for Varadero, in Cuba. It was a long flight (around eight-and-a-half-hours) in jmc airlines' battery chicken class, but we arrived safe and sound with our legs still working!

Varadero was lovely. I've never been anywhere like it before. It was just like you see in the brochures and on the telly. Miles of sandy beaches. Crystal-clear blue waters lapping at the sand. Glorious sunshine (most of the time). And an all-inclusive package, which meant that we could eat and drink all we wanted, when we wanted.

We stayed at Brisas Del Caribe Hotel, which has some very mixed reviews on the web. Personally, I thought it was a great place, very, very clean and the staff were all very friendly. The food was good (if not a little samey). However, seeing some of the reviews this morning, I note that I am not alone in contracting food poisoning while I was there!

We made a day-trip to Havana City, which is a must for all visitors to Cuba. Needless to say, we picked up a cigar (or two). Enquire within! Havana is a lovely city with much history to see. A day trip is not enough, so we shall have to go back one day!

I think it's fair to say that the highlight of our trip was swimming with dolphins. This was a truly amazing experience. These creatures are so intelligent and very, very cute. We have a video of two dolphins flinging me up in the air, which all visitors to Johnsy Towers are likely to be subjected to in the not-too-distant future!

There's not a lot more I can say, really, other than that a member of the cabin crew managed to spill tea on me on both flights! Thankfully on the outbound flight it was cold! Ah well, never mind, eh? It didn't spoil our honeymoon. I'm not sure that anything could.

You're not enjoying the johnsy.com experience as it was intended with colours, fonts, layout and stuff!

May I recommend a newer graphical browser, perhaps? Mozilla, Netscape, Opera and Internet Explorer should work without too many problems. I'm a Firefox Man, myself!I see you prefer "CCBot/1.0 (+http://www.commoncrawl.org/bot.html)". --paj
