Time and tide wait for no man. Or so they say. There have been many things that I have wanted to blog* this month, but time has been flying past at a quite a pace, leaving this man lagging sorrily behind.
It seems that some of the blogs to which I link in the navigation bit on the left-hand side of the HTML version of this blog have risen, phoenix-like, from their ashes. Perhaps if I forgo typing more little green and yellow characters into this little box, for another while, the rest of the dormant bloggers to whom I link will arise?
Since I last pushed the buttons that share my thoughts with the world, much has happened. The most staggering phenomenon being that I had forgotten what HTML looked like and, perhaps, worse still, for what HTML was an acronym!
You know, of course, a lot of what's been going on in the vicinity of my life by the very fact that your news aggregator or web-browser regularly updates you on the various goings-on in the blogs in the vicinity of this one. You know, of course, about the goodness that is the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. You are probably also aware of the joyful return of The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy to Radio 4.
So... what new information can I share without boring my reader to tears (assuming of course that I haven't yet, and that they are still reading)?
I am delighted that I have completed six months in my new job. It still feels vary much like a new job, too, which is great. I'm no longer the new boy, either. The end of my probationary period featured a brief meeting with my manager who told me I was doing "'king good job" and then he handed me a letter detailing a salary increase, which I had not been expecting! It's fair to say that my job is good.
Other than working and all the usual stuff that I do, I've been spending a reasonable amount of time reading a number of Colin Dexter's Novels and following these up by watching the excellent television adaptations. I have been a fan of the Inspector Morse stories since I was a boy. Reading the books again (I say 'again', most of them I'm reading for the first time) and re-watching the DVDs (I say 're-watching', but I saw them on the TV first time around), I find myself wanting a trip to The City of the Dreaming Spires. Mrs Johns has not spent much time in Oxford, and I really like the place. I haven't been back to visit nearly enough since I left Abingdon back at the turn of the Century. As such, that is where we're going to be spending this weekend. Perhaps we shall be popping into some of the fictional character's favourite haunts for an ale or two! I'm really quite looking forward to it. Perhaps I should hire a Mk II Jaguar for the occasion?
Enough from me... more from you...
Dr T informs me he got 46/70 ... mawhaha! Caz
Caz, of course, scored two points more. Let us hope that such matters have not disrupted the anticipated state of bliss!
Thanks for the communicate scripty bits, I ended up trashing most of what I had and used most of yours, muchas gracias :) --pac
De nada. The paj small mailer script (as used on this site) adds itself to another site. That must be, oooh, lots (more than many) by now. Perhaps one day I'll publish the PHP source for all the web-savvy world to marvel / scoff at. Today is not that day, as I have a beer to drink and a wife to keep me company.

May I recommend a newer graphical browser, perhaps? Mozilla, Netscape, Opera and Internet Explorer should work without too many problems. I'm a Firefox Man, myself!I see you prefer "CCBot/1.0 (+http://www.commoncrawl.org/bot.html)". --paj
